Parker PensIt's ironic that George S. Parker, who founded one of the world's oldest pen companies, abandoned a career in electronic communications (he was a telegraphy teacher) to work in a far older, more elemental way of communicating: with pen and paper. He had been repairing pens when he realized that with some basic design changes, fountain pens could work way better. In 1888 he started Parker Pen Company in Janesville, Wisconsin, which has been making consistently excellent Parker Pens ever since. |
